Blog #11

Kaizen is the process of continually improving upon something, in this case it is being aimed at design. Kaizen is basically the same concept as continual redesign. Both deal with improving upon a past design to achieve the optimal end product.

A concept we had implied to project six was a machine that distributed numbers much like the Disney quick pass system. This method would decrease the amount of time people would need to spend in lines.

Originally we intended to have these devices at the entrance to their respective rides, however after applying Kaizen we relocated them to a more convenient spot, a central location, a place that didn't require people to go long distances out of their way. By implementing this system we will reduce lines and thus intend to have people up and moving around instead of standing nearly stationary for hours waiting in lines.
